Melbourne, we have a mission.
This winter is going to be one of the coldest in decades. For our friends on the street this means cold days and excruciatingly cold nights... unless we can help.
I have teamed up with Donna from the charity Sleeping Bags For The Homeless and we want to make sure that those that need some help can get it.
Specifically we want to Keep Melbourne Warm. We have a goal to give 1,000 sleeping bags to those that need them most!
Donna told me, “At last count there were 280 Humans sleeping rough in Melbourne. Obviously the bags they use don’t last so long on the streets, they get wet, ripped and unusable, so we’d love to be able to replace them when needed through the winter. If we can raise enough money to buy 1,000 sleeping bags that would mean we could make sure they all get at least 2 over the next few months. The bags also go to crisis accommodation services for when they have to turn people away and to other services all over the city.”
Donna is able to get good quality bags for $35 through her charity. So we need to raise $35,000 to Keep Melbourne Warm.
Any donation over $2 is tax deductible so you can do some good and save on your taxes!
The absolute legends at XTM Performance have jumped in and said they will match dollar for dollar for the first $4,000!
