We have drop off locations all over Canberra and we’re looking for more.

If you have sanitary products to donate PM us with your location and we’ll tell you the closest location nearest you.

I caught up today with a beautiful friend who spent some time out of home and could have really used the products that we supply.

We got to talking about periods and I told her that there are times when I can go through a tampon and pad in 20 minutes - she said her experience is the same.

Can you imagine going through that when you have no or limited sanitary products?

Sanitary product pilot to be rolled out

Scotland have trialled a scheme to provide free sanitary products to low income earners and it’s been so successful that they’re rolling it out through the country.

We love hearing about initiatives like this. It inspires us to do more for our community here in Australia.

The Scottish government pilot for free sanitary products for women on low incomes began in Aberdeen.

The Canberra Period Project supports Stasia's Soup Kitchen Canberra

Stasia has been running Soup kitchen Canberra for 38 years and is now happily retired. Joshua her grandson has taken over Stasia’s Soup kitchen to help feed and care for the needy people of Canberra. Stasia's has moved to the griffin centre each Friday 11am-4pm.

The Canberra Period Project supports Stasia's with sanitary products and in the near future sleeping bags. If you or someone you know needs these items please visit them at the Griffin Centre, Fridays from 11am-4pm.

The Canberra Period Project supports A Gender Agenda

A Gender Agenda works with, and on behalf of, intersex, transgender and gender diverse people, their friends, families and allies. AGA seeks to remove discrimination and break down barriers. They provide social support, events, workshops, advocacy, training, policy advice and resources. AGA utilises a community development approach in our work that values the voices of lived experience.

The Junction Youth Health service is a free primary health care service that provides support to young people in all aspects of their health and well being. Young people aged 12 to 25 years old (and their children), living in the ACT and surrounding region can make an appointment with one of the trained professionals.

The Canberra Period Project supports The Junction and provides our sanitary packs to them, for distribution to the clients of The Junction.

We first heard about The Junction through a family friend who, when she was experiencing homelessness, used their services. With limited money, she was couch surfing, dependent on the people she met along the way to help out with the things we can often take for granted - deodorant, soap, toothpaste and sanitary products.

Today we made 81 packs and we now have 26 packs nearly ready, they’re waiting for super and regular pads.
