Happy Saturday everyone. We know some people slept much a little bit more comfy last night with the half pillows that went out recently in a streety walk. These half pillows were popped into back backs and distributed with hygiene bags, Period packs,non perishable food items and best of all sleeping bags for those sleeping rough between Labrador and Tweed Heads. We are more than just sanitary items. Did you know that here is Brisbane we collect and distribute School items for The School Project. Ever thought about what it is like for our kids to go to school after leaving the family home under not ideal circumstances. It’s hard enough for these kids, they shouldn’t have to worry about not having back packs, pens, pencils, drink bottles or lunch boxes. This is a way too common stress for some families. This week has been a busy one. Last Saturday seen us at Homeless Community Day at Kingston, Gold Coast Homeless Connect day Wednesday and Reconnect at Redcliffe yesterday a huge thanks goes out to those volunteers that have helped pack the packs, the two volunteers that joined me yesterday at Redcliffe, without the help of our volunteers it would be impossible. Over 400 packs have gone out to those in need since last Saturday. That’s 400 people that are thankful and appreciative of what we do. The shock this week was the 15+ organisations that have contacted us and are also in dire need of our packs, the need is growing, its time to ramp things up even more and get those packs to those in need. ...
